5Terrific NFL History on the Hall of Fame...Aug 17, 2005
By Kim Anehall "www.cinematica.org"
Every year in the beginning of August, a month before the NFL season kicks off, the excitement around professional football begins to simmer. What triggers this commotion around the pigskin is the many training camps and the induction into the National Football League Hall of Fame. Over many decades the number has exceeded far more than 18,000 players who have experienced the thrills of tackles, blocks, and touchdowns. Among these a select few, no more than 229 players, as of 2005, have been inducted into this select group for their achievements on the professional gridiron since its opening in 1963.

Warner Home Video has together with NFL Films complied a DVD set with three discs, which contains highlights, induction speeches, and gallery with biographical information of the Hall of Fame inductees. The first disc contains most of the football highlights of the inductees, which has been made into 12 different chapters. Some of these chapters are named Signature Plays, Game Breakers, and Underdogs. Each of these chapters runs about 10 minutes in length, and it is jam packed with amazing plays by former players such as Larry Little pancaking a defender to Dick Butkus shaming his opponents with ruthless tackles. There are also nice elusive runs by players such as Gale Sayers and Barry Sanders to stunning passes by Dan Fouts and others. All of these are inductees of the Hall of Fame who have earned their right by excellence on the football field to be a part of this great DVD.

On the second disc the audience can patiently listen to 30 different induction speeches, which is very tedious in one sitting. Thus, it is warmly recommended for the audience to pace themselves by watching one or two speeches at the time while letting the speech settle in the mind. However, it is interesting for anyone who is interested in football to listen to these former talented players express their gratitude and the pleasure they have received from football and the individuals in football. On the third disc, the viewer can discover an extensive encyclopedia that covers all of the 229 members of the NFL Hall of Fame. It holds information in regards to playing history, place of birth and photos of both the athletes and the bust that can be seen in Canton, Ohio. There is also a short video attached to each NFL profile, which draws attention to the highlights of the person's NFL career.

NFL Films has together with Warner Home Video successfully accomplished to achieve a terrific box set with wonderful packaging. It is not really true that the DVD has no extras, as the whole box set should be perceived as an extra in itself. It is one of those box sets that will get NFL fans pumped up for any upcoming season, as it contain awesome tackles, touchdowns, and other important aspects of the gridiron.

3Not bad, but....Nov 29, 2005
By Diego Perez Gimenez
This box set is not bad, but if you already purchased the DVD called "The greatest" you can save your money.
It seems that NFL films just re-releases again and again the same DVD videos adding a couple of 2 minute clips. It's true that this time they added a whole dvd dedicated to hall of famers speeches, but the really interesting one is the documentary that was already released a few years ago. I wish that NFL films should warn us for these kind of things.

2"could be much better"Jul 24, 2007
By D. Houston
when i first saw the pro football hall of fame i was like wow! i got to have that. then when i got it. (after nearly paying 5o bucks including the shipping and handling. and i looked at all 3 disks. i was not that impressed. for 1 the greatest disc that is in the package is the same disc that is called the nfl's greatest players and coaches! and i already had that! and another reason for my disappointment is that on the 3rd disc that profiles all 229 members of the hall of fame, there is not enough footage on the players! i mean you might get like 3o second maybe a minute of footage. i wanted more! i want to see the greats. and when i got only that much, i was not to pleased! more time should have been put into it for what u are paying! some of the players profiled did not even have any footage instead, it had them talking. now who wants to see that? i sincerly hope that the nfl gives us a dvd that really gets into the great footage of the all time greats of the past! much like the "greatest players and coaches did!....

3Frankly, I expected more...Oct 22, 2005
By Tech Addict
I'm a big fan of the game and was really expecting a lot more.
The first DVD, on some of the greats is a good one, 2 hrs of great clips.
The speeches on the second DVD may be a bit boring for some people.
The third DVD was the biggest disappointment. I believe the presentation could have been much much better. More statistics and more video clips would have been appreciated.
Eventhough I gave it a 3, I was terribly disappointed. Buyers remorse? Maybe.

3Repeat Of Greatest Players And CoachesDec 24, 2010
By Harry Young
This product includes a DVD which was issued as Greatest Players And Coaches (I think that's the title) and the extra DVDs aren't that exciting, player speeches and click-on-here player profile menu that shows very little videos. Videos and info that you have to click to watch, can't seem watch all continiously, no Play All feature, so it's bothersome to click on each name at a time. Disappointingly, I already had the Greatest Players/Coaches DVD, so when I bought this set, it felt like buying something I already had, and the bonus discs are the lesser parts of the set.
